Coronary artery disease (CAD) is the leading cause of death of men and women in the United States. CAD can develop when arteries that lead to the heart narrow or become blocked – reducing blood flow to the heart. When this occurs, chest pain, heart attacks and death can result.
Who is a candidate for a HeartFlow Analysis?
If your doctor needs more information after a CT scan of the heart, he or she may order a HeartFlow Analysis. This test can be performed in the same clinic visit as your CT scan. There is not additional risk from the test.
What to expect during a HeartFlow Analysis?
HeartFlow technology will use the CT scan results to create a personalized digital 3D model of your coronary arteries. The analysis will calculate how much your blockages limit your blood flow in the heart.
Your cardiologist will receive the digital, color-coded 3D model of your arteries and will use it to develop a customized treatment plan for you.
