Northeast Georgia Health System has two professionally-trained medical librarians who are available to help patients and families find quality and easy-to-understand health information about medical symptoms, conditions, and treatments. NGMC Resource Centers
The Fraser Resource Center & Health Sciences Library is open to guests of Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Located across from McKibbon Chapel on the first floor of the Blue Tower, the Resource Center was made possible through generous funds donated to the Northeast Georgia Health System Foundation by the late Grady and Lillian Fraser.
The Fraser Resource Center & Health Sciences Library offers:
- Medical librarian assistance in finding consumer health information.
- By appointment, assistance in finding consumer health information from a medical librarian.
- A large collection of books and audiovisual materials in both English and Spanish.
- Three guest computers with internet access, as well as Wi-Fi internet for guests with personal laptops and mobile devices.
- Health books and computer games for children in both English and Spanish.
The Resource Center is located on the Northeast Georgia Medical Center Braselton campus on the first floor of Medical Plaza B near Elevator B. The medical librarian is available Monday through Friday by appointment only to assist in finding quality consumer health information.
While there is no physical library onsite, our NGHS librarians welcome the opportunity to schedule an appointment with NGMC Barrow and NGMC Lumpkin patients and their families for their health information needs.

The DailyMed database contains 143,461 labeling submitted to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) by companies. DailyMed does not contain a complete listing of labeling for FDA-regulated products (e.g., labeling that is not submitted to the FDA).
Healthfinder
Healthfinder is provided by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. You can search for information on health topics from A to Z. Available in English and Spanish.
Medline Plus
From the National Library of Medicine and the National Institutes of Health, this website provides reliable, up-to-date health information in English and Spanish – including videos, pictures and interactive lessons.

PubMed Central (PMC) is a free full-text archive of biomedical and life sciences journal literature at the U.S. National Institutes of Health’s National Library of Medicine (NIH/NLM).
